Larky is our school mascot.
Children at Lark Hill earn ‘Larky’ stars for effort and kindness.
If any child is witnessed by any member of staff persevering with something difficult, challenging themselves, producing more or better quality work than previously or making great efforts to meet or surpass expectations, they will be told to put a gold star onto their Larky Chart to reward their effort.
If any child is witnessed by any member of staff showing good manners, cheering someone up, helping others, being selfless, sharing, making an effort to include others or resolving conflicts restoratively, they will be told to put a silver star onto their Larky Chart to reward kindness.
When every child in the class has got at least one star, the class will earn a reward (usually some extra playtime).
When a child completes their Larky Chart (30 stars), they will get a special pencil and a ‘postcard of praise’ sent to their home address.
