New Starters September 2020

Mr Kelly and all the staff at Lark Hill would like to warmly welcome you to the Lark Hill family. We are really pleased that you have chosen our school and want to reassure you that your child is still very much in our thoughts during these difficult times. We are sending information out as to how your child will get to know your teacher and the school.
All you need to do now is keep yourselves safe and have the peace of mind that we are looking forward to welcoming your child in the not too distant future.

School uniform: Your child will need a school jumper or cardigan to be purchased from school through our cashless system. They also need a white polo shirt and black or grey trousers or skirt which can be purchased at most supermarkets. Please can you ensure that all items of clothing, including coats, hats, wellies etc are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

  • Please let your child practice their self-help skills, getting dressed and undressed themselves.

Book bags can be also purchased at the office. We use the book bags to keep reading and library books in. Letters and messages can also be found in them.

School starts at 9:00am for the reception children and finishes at 3.00pm. We usually welcome you into the class to support your child with their name writing etc every morning. Unfortunately, we will not be able to do this whilst Covid 19 restrictions remain. Whilst these are in place, please drop your child off at the reception class gate. You will also collect your child from outside the Reception class. Please inform school if another adult will be collecting your child.

Snack: At about 10.30am the children have snack time. This helps develop their personal and social skills. The children have a variety of fruit throughout the week and also a choice of milk or water.

Lunch is at 11.30am. All Reception and KS1 children are entitled to a free school meal. If you choose not to take up this opportunity, please ensure that lunch boxes are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
